GXO Logistics announced that its new U.S. distribution center in Middletown, PA, has recently begun picking and shipping direct-to-consumer orders for the Saks retail chain as part of its e-commerce business.
Speed and agility
The warehouse in Pennsylvania has a floor space of 37,000 square meters and will eventually be occupied by Saks for 26,000 square meters.
It will house about half of the company's product line and will act as a true e-commerce logistics hub, with GXO Logistics making direct-to-consumer shipments for its customer across the country, using its GXO Direct shared distribution network (41 locations across the United States).
"Our new e-fulfillment center in Middletown allows us to meet Saks' e-commerce needs with speed and agility, which is especially important during busy times like the holiday season," said Bill Fraine, GXO Logistics sales manager.
