The Société d'exploitation des gares routières d'Algérie (SOGRAL) recorded considerable losses estimated at 1.7 billion dinars, due to the suspension of its activity within the framework of measures taken by the government to fight against the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), announced Wednesday, the CEO of the company, Youcef Tessa.

During his appearance before the transport and telecommunications commission of the National People's Assembly (APN), Tessa also made the reception of three new bus stations during the first half of 2021 in the wilayas of Ghardaia, Illizi and Mascara.

These three new ones will create new jobs, stresses the CEO who specifies that his company has to its credit some 75 bus stations spread over the national territory.

Regarding the preparations for the resumption of activity at the bus station of passenger transport (Caroubier) in Algiers, Mr. Tessa confirmed that there are good indications that the station will resume its activity, but after the approval of public authorities empowered to take a decision in this regard.

The company has embarked on a project to digitise the management of the station which aims to improve the quality of its service, particularly through the development of an electronic ticket reservation system.
