Previously known as SDTL, the carrier has become La Sphère Transport & Logistique. This name change is accompanied by the acquisition of the logistics company RSO, which adds another string to its bow.

The summer is off to a great start for SDTL, which is changing its name to La Sphère Transport & Logistique and entering the logistics business by acquiring RSO.

"The new image of this family business, established in the north of Toulouse since 1957, is in line with the opening to new activities", summarizes La Sphère Transport & Logistique in a press release.

A turning point in the life of the company

First, there is the name change, which marks a turning point in the life of the company founded by Pierre Decons and taken over in 2016 by Luc Quéguiner.

"The redesign of our image reflects our desire to show the modernity of the company and to affirm to our customers and our teams that we are always moving forward.

Technological advances, for the benefit of our customers, safety and the well-being of our employees are at the heart of our thinking", explains Luc Quéguiner, President of La Sphère Transport & Logistique.

Claiming a turnover of 13.6 million euros in 2020, the group, which specializes in the transport of general goods, industrial equipment, traction and temperature-controlled goods, expects to grow by 8% in 2021.At the same time, it is continuing to expand its workforce of 120 employees by recruiting around 20 drivers.

A foot in logistics

Another important development is the acquisition of the logistics company RSO, which adds another string to its bow. This company, whose premises have just been transferred to Belberaud, near Toulouse, will enable it to complete its offer to shippers.

"At the beginning of May, we moved into our new 3,500 m2 warehouse located in the La Balme business park, in Belberaud near Toulouse.

This is a great opportunity for development that allows us to be both efficient in terms of ambient storage and to offer tailor-made support to our customers, who are oriented towards e-commerce and distribution," explains Lucas Belkaid, Logistics Director of La Sphère Logistique. The group plans to hire 3 to 4 employees this year in this niche.
