Martin Brower is building a new platform for MacDonald's logistics at Rosières-aux-Salines near Nancy. It will replace the Custines site, north of Nancy, opened in 1996.
The new 5,500 m2 HQE site (2,000 more than at present) will require an investment of 9.5 million euros.
It will deliver 119 restaurants, equivalent to 44 metric tons of products in 2019. The platform will operate dry, fresh and frozen.
The new location will shorten delivery distances and bring it closer to local carriers.
To reduce CO2 emissions, the delivery trucks will run on a biofuel made from recycled frying oils from the restaurants.
