The first Algerian ship providing the first direct shipping line between Algeria and Mauritania, arrived Tuesday morning at the autonomous port of Nouakchott, called Port of Friendship.

The Director of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mr. Mohamed Lemine Ould Vayda, explained that this line will not fail to boost trade between Mauritania and Algeria, especially with the entry into force of the African Free Trade Agreement.

For his part, the chargé d'affaires at the Algerian Embassy in Nouakchott, Mr. Youssef Kicha, said that the opening of this maritime line, the first direct line to Mauritania, will develop maritime traffic between the two sister countries and trade between countries in the subregion.

The reception of the ship was attended by a delegation including the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott, Mr. Sid Ahmed Ould Raiss, several central officials of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and executives of the port.
